Imagine a team of two programmers, taking the MUGEN engine software to the limit by creating their own video game that is actually good.

You don’t have to imagine for long because this team from Spain is near finished and the buzz in incredible. Teaser after teaser the team has been hard at work creating their own sprites for the game. Every fighting game possibly imaginable was created, drawn by hand, and programmed by these to programmers; Ahruon and Orkimides. Every beloved geek character will be on this game. KOS-MOS, Ivy, Cloud, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, Tecmo, X-Men etc.

This game is supposed to be better than Super Smash Bros. because, it has the characters from Super Smash and every fighting game. Take a look at the latest teaser.

Big Music Releases for Tuesday, March 25

March

Tomorrow we’ll see two new albums that have a lot to live up to: both are follow ups to major 2006 albums, and both were leaked on the Internet prior to release.  Here’s an idea of what to expect before they’re released on the 25th.

The Raconteurs - Consolers Of The Lonely

Last Monday The Raconteurs announced that in eight days they would be releasing Consolers Of The Lonely, the followup to their acclaimed Broken Boy Soldiers album. That’s obviously not much time to bombard the public with advertisements and pre-release buzz, but according to The Raconteurs that’s the point: “We wanted to get this record to fans, the press, radio, etc., all at the EXACT SAME TIME so that no one has an upper hand on anyone else regarding it’s availability, reception or perception.” You can pick the album up tomorrow and make up your own mind.

Gnarls Barkley - The Odd Couple

Gnarls Barkley’s second album wasn’t as much of a surprise as The Raconteurs’, but its release date was: after being leaked online, the band moved the April release up to March 25. The singles “Run” and “Who’s Gonna Save My Soul” came out weeks before The Odd Couple’s release, and now that reviews for the full album are coming out the consensus seems very positive. Though there’s no “Crazy”-caliber hit, the album apparently still offers plenty to love.

Technology Used By SXSW 2008

In this picture of this computer, there is where SXSWi is operating allowing everyone to have an opportunity to actually be up to date with any and every article being written on the event. By the computer there are also a pair of headphones that allow all of the convention goers to preview some of the many artists that were performing. At South by Southwest (SXSW) this year they have made it a point to be a revolutionary convention not only in artistic culture but in all technological advances. SXSW is being fed live to the public through more than one outlet. With that little information I am sure you realize that SXSW articles and reporting are going through twitter that can also be viewed on the SXSW computer.

Video is a major element in SXSW this year. A new video networking application called Kyte is allowing to send recorded or even live video to be posted on the web. Many recording artists are using this application to “break the wall between fan and artist”. The most noted recording artist using this is rapper 50 cent how constantly sends new video for his public to comment on. In regards to SXSW, Kyte is allowing convention goers to actually send there recorded or live video to be viewed on large plasmas set up throughout the convention. The hardware of choice to recording on is a mobile phone. With a data plan it is very possible to send live video. With an email or sms plan anyone can send the video over the Kyte website the very second it is recorded.

The phone has to be one of the major focal points in the festival. Regardless of new applications, SXSW has created a mobile site SXSW.mobi to allow everyone to get schedules, mp3’s, videos, and more. But also if you sent a text-message you can find out the 5 w’s of any aspect of the whole convention.

If you purchased a SXSW interactive pass then Microsoft is gave you a free trial version of the newly released Microsoft Silverlight. This was given as one of many gifts in the SXSW Big Bag. Microsoft created a lounge with a large plasma allowing all convention goers to play some Guitar Hero 3.

Google’s CEO Eric Schmidt, said today that he would be concerned if Microsoft bought Yahoo. The effect it would have on the flow of the internet according to him would not be good. Even though the $44.6 billion that was offered previously was not accepted by Yahoo because it was too low, Microsoft seems to be bent on acquiring Yahoo.

Eric Schmidt said that Microsoft has basically not played by the rules in the past and has made it hard for everyone. If Microsoft would purchase yahoo, then they would dominate in Web Advertising market share.
